Description
A folksy sequence of 4 movements (quite different from, and possibly more approachable than, my quartet!) for string quintet (2 violins, viola, 2 cellos).

The themes are taken from various pieces composed or arranged in earlier times by the composer, including a marvellously camp version of Ich bin e meidel in de joren (hear the sound sample: Camp David), Marie for shame - a song based on a poem by Ronsard about a young girl who should gather rosebuds while she may, Blue Boar Blue based on a song of student love.
